EARLY WORK

Encouraged by my ninth-grade teacher, Mrs. Owens.
One of my first published poems in Finding Myself: A Journey (2004).

In a Whirlpool of Confusion

I get turned,
    I get lifted,
        I get flipped,
            I get twisted,
In a whirlpool of confusion.

There is Purple,
    There is Green,
        There is Black,
            Together a team,
In a whirlpool of confusion.

I get pulled,
    I get twirled,
        I get tipped,
            I get hurled,
In a whirlpool of confusion.

There is wind,
    There is ice,
        It has fire,
            It’s not nice,
In a whirlpool of confusion.

Then it slows,
    You hit rocks,
        Then it goes,
            Then it stops,
In a whirlpool of confusion.

Anonymous. It simply lets the author know you appreciated the piece.
