Eric Scott Stevens is a science fiction and fantasy writer from Kentucky and the winner of the 2025 Typewriter Chicago Short Story Contest. A U.S. Army veteran, his work spans from near-future science fiction, far-future atmospheric bike racing, grimdark fantasy, with a focus on themes of grief, the cost of war, bonds of family, and the chains that bind the very gods.

Enthusiastic about all things analog, Eric spends his time restoring old typewriters, learning DOS computing, and practicing bonsai. He lives with his wife (an ICU nurse) and their three children.
